”
Working in the senior care industry for over 20 years has provided me with the resources and passion to help seniors find solutions to keep them safe, content, cared for, and most of all happy. I have worked with hundreds of families over the years, and each one holds a special place in my heart. Meeting with these families, I have learned how incredibly hard it is to navigate the care and safety of our aging loved ones.
This past year, I lost both of my own parents. My mother was suddenly diagnosed with end stage Pancreatic cancer. My father and brothers were lost in this process and had I not been in the field I am, I could not imagine what these sudden changes had been like for my own family. I was able to quickly get my mom set up on services she needed, and she sadly passed away within days. My mother passed on December 8th, 2024. Then, on December 11th, 2024 (his Birthday), my dad suffered a brainstem stroke. Luckily after a lengthy intensive care unit stay, I was able to move him to Assisted Living quickly where I was the Executive Director. He sadly passed away in May. During this time, I realized that the skills that I have used to help many families, now I was able to use to help my own family.
My mom used to tell me that I needed to help more families - that I needed to find a way to have my own business doing so. So here I am, taking a leap of faith that my knowledge, love for seniors, and understanding of how difficult these years can be can help other families feel comfortable during these transitions.
My parents published an entertainment magazine aimed at providing seniors in our surrounding counties with a fun, personable, publication for their enjoyment. They also added a travel business, which then suffered when Covid hit. After 24 years of putting their heart and soul into every publication, they stopped their business in 2024. FRANK TALK Entertainment Magazine, and FRANK TALK on the Road were very popular and our family cherishes all the memories and friendships made over the years. Now, I hope to proudly honor my parents with FRANK TALK transitions to help families navigate the challenges that aging loved ones can bring.
Over a decade of working as an Executive Director in a 62 unit assisted living, I dealt with working with a lot of referral agencies. What bothered me about these services? When you see an advertisement on TV and call the number to find possible placement, most people don’t realize that these referral agencies do not actually visit these communities. They send you or your loved one’s name to several locations. Then, the community will call to set up a tour, etc. If they get you to move in, these referral agencies receive thousands of dollars – JUST for giving a community your contact information and then following up with a few phone calls.
Often, these communities that receive your information are not the right placement for you or your loved one. Therefore, I will not be taking referral payments from any community that you might tour or move in to. There will be no favoritism. I will personally tour communities with you and your family, ask the right questions, and ensure that this is the best solution for your family. I will work for YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
If it is in the best interest for your loved one to remain at home, I can also help guide solutions to ensure they are safe, cared for, and loved.
